A ruggedly beautiful property perfectly positioned at the junction of the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale, where scores of sheep roam freely and share the grazing of steep hills with local kangaroos.

THE REGIONS

‘The best of both worlds’ has never been a more apt description.

Adelaide Hills

Turn right as you exit Hillenvale and you will discover the cellar doors of lush, cool-climate vineyards of the Adelaide Hills region.

Meandering roads lead to quaint villages and townships offering countless cafes, restaurants, pubs, antique stores, art galleries, markets and more.

McLaren Vale

Turn left, and you will find the patchwork-quilted valley of McLaren Vale with its famed cellar doors and vineyards, cooled by coastal breezes.

Nestled between pristine sandy beaches and undulating hills, the towns and hamlets dotted throughout the region boast a diverse array of award-winning wining and dining venues, galleries, retailers and providores.

So much, so close.

THE HOMESTEAD

Build in 1859, this characterful five-bedroom residence was home to one of the region’s earliest farms.

While having undergone extensive modernisation over the years, great care has been taken to ensure the homestead has retained all of its nineteenth century charm.

With sweeping views from each of the upstairs bedrooms along with a sumptuously appointed kitchen, formal dining room, gracious lounge, study and of course, wine cellar, it won’t be long before it becomes highly sought after by discerning guests seeking premium accommodation or a truly remarkable wedding venue.

THE VINEYARDS

Nurtured by viticulturists and winemakers, Richard and Malcom Leask, Hillenvale’s Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale vineyards are undergoing a renaissance.

Well-known for their highly regarded Hither & Yon wines, the brothers bring a passion for regenerative farming practices to express the very best from the rich soils of the regions, while remaining respectful of the environment and being certified sustainable.

This approach is exemplified by farmer, Scott Binn’s encouragement of bio-diversity with native grasses and plantings, along with Hillenvale’s own purebred and pasture-raised lambs on the property.
